How to du Mindfulness
Welcome to mindfulness for children
- an app that can be used by a child alone or with an adult.
Mindfulness can be described as being aware of what happens, while it happens; to focus one’s attention on inner or outer incidents in the now, with an open, accepting, and non-judgemental attitude. The ability to be mindful is an ability that can be developed.
To develop mindfulness it is ideal to practice with a person experienced in meditating (e.g. in the form of taking weekly live sessions) and also practice exercises at home on a daily basis.
This app provides the opportunity to guide your child through short exercises and choose what your child wants and needs in their daily practice.
When one learns to meditate, it is important that this interest in, or wish to learn to meditate, comes from within. Children can be encouraged to meditate, but it should happen voluntarily. If your child doesn’t want to participate, it is important to respect this. If they don’t choose meditation, you could explore other exercises with sensory awareness or other games that strengthen awareness.
Our meditations can be used by children four-years-old and older. For the best audio experience, we recommend the use of headphones or external speakers.
We also recommend you activate Airplane or Flight mode during meditations so you are not interrupted.
